
ATLANTA (WJBF) — In less than a month, every Georgia school district will be required to have a cell phone ban policy in place for students in kindergarten through 8th grade.
The requirement comes under Georgia’s new Distracted-Free Education Act, which takes effect July 1. The law requires students in grades K-8 to keep cell phones and other personal electronic devices put away throughout the school day.
Supporters say the move will help improve classroom focus, reduce disruptions, and create a healthier learning environment for students.
