Classroom cellphone ban’s first year a success, say local educators

PHILADELPHIA, New York (WWNY) - A full academic year without phones in North Country schools has wrapped up, and district leaders say students are more focused in the classroom.

“Overall, our students, our parents, our staff have done well with the ban on cell phones or electronic devices,” said Troy Decker, superintendent of Indian River Central School District.
