Wenatchee Schools to Enforce Cell Phone-Free Policy Starting Fall 2025

WENATCHEE — In a move aimed at fostering stronger academic focus and emotional well-being, the Wenatchee School District has adopted a new cell phone-free policy for students, set to take effect at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.

A national study found that students in Yondr schools had a 14.9% higher probability of earning a 'C' grade or better, with substantial drops in behavioral incidents and technology misuse.

Middle and elementary schools in the district will continue their current “away for the day” practices, which administrators say have already shown success.
