As students head back to school, Maryland enforces Phone-Free Schools Act

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Many Maryland students are getting used to a school day without a cellphone.

According to Montgomery County Public Schools, all students, including high schoolers, are prohibited from using cellphones and personal electronic devices, bell to bell.

In neighboring Prince George’s, the rules are a little different. Cellphone policies are determined by the individual school instead of a district-wide mandate from PGCPS.
