The state of California is now making every school district create a phone policy by July of next year.
And for the Long Beach Unified School District, their policy will start next semester in January.
For children in TK through the 8th grade, they have to keep their phones powered off and put away for the entire school day, including during before and after school programs.
For high schoolers, devices have to be turned off and put away during instructional time.
