Cell Phone Bans in a National Sample of US Public School Principals

The increase in child mental health concerns in the US1 has coincided with widespread adoption of digital technologies among youth. Citing concerns about cell phone use and mental health and academic performance2 as well as the association between greater screen time and diminished mental well-being,3 many school systems and several states have adopted school cell phone bans.
