CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — While cell phone bans are being considered in other school systems in West Virginia, Harrison County Schools has had a policy in place since September 2024.
That’s when the school system instituted an “away for the day” cell phone policy that says students can not have cellphones in the classroom.
The policy states that phones cannot be on a student’s person, and are required to be kept in a locker or car during the school day. Devices are also required to be powered off inside school vehicles.
